Head of Product
Siqi’s direct manager in 2023
I have worked with Siqi at ViSenze for 4 years, and she is one of the most talented designers I have come across. She takes a methodical approach to her designs and has the ability to simplify complex topics while working cross-functionally to build consensus. Siqi has been instrumental in the design of ViSenze’s platform console, from the conception of user journeys to detailed visual design.
Siqi would be a great asset to any team that prizes design thinking and collaborative cross functional work.

Backstory
A wee bit of history on how I started designing
I grew up in a conservative household where I was brought up to be prudent and frugal. Despite my interest in art and design, the pressure of making a practical choice for my course of study led me to pursue Biomedical Science in polytechnic instead.
After getting my diploma, I found work as a research assistant at A*STAR, delving into the effects of genes on prostate and breast cancer. It was a fine job, but I knew I didn’t love it.
One day, while perusing the shelves of a bookstore, I chanced upon Einstein's biography.
As I leafed through the pages, a quote caught my eye:
It is tasteless to prolong life artificially.
I was hit with a sudden epiphany — making a difference in people's lives while they are still alive is more meaningful than seeking ways to extend their time on earth.
As clichéd as it may sound, that singular moment altered the course of my life. I took a gap year, went to art school, and now here I am, ready to make a difference in the lives of others as a designer!
